Aquatics to your Door required a brand new e-commerce site to expand their business selling online tropical, marine and pond fish. With over 700 products to sell, mostly live stock, Aquatics needed a online store that was simple & fast to use for it’s customers as well as it’s staff. Getting the general look & feel of the site just right was one of the many challenges I faced when building this site, and along with lots of custom coding & tweaks to the shopping cart software, I think I can safely say this has been my most ambitious website build to date.

Just some of the add-on’s made to the site:

1. Due to different the temperaments of tropical fish I built a custom key system into the product pages that was configurable by the staff when they uploaded products to the site admin.

2. A feature of their previous website was to be able to pair up fish that house well with others, this was also built into the new site along with the addition of a recommended food category.

3. With the delivery of live stock, time was an important factor and dates needed to be chosen by the customer and not by the supplier (which is common practice in most e-commerce websites). A complex calendar system was installed for this purpose.
