Responsive Web Design
With the staggering growth of mobile devices like smart phones and tablets it is now essential that your business website is mobile friendly.
What exactly is a ‘responsive’ or ‘Mobile friendly’ site? its a site that adapts its layout to fit the viewable area of the device being used, as can be seen in the example diagram below. Making the content accessible and easy to view across the many different device types and screen sizes is one of my main priorities when designing a site, so users will get a good website experience whichever device they are viewing it on.
Not all functionality works on both a desktop version and a mobile version of a website, for example menus and buttons need to be adjusted to work on the different devices. Also there are the added benefits of the touch screen that can be put to good use, an example would be an image banner on a mobile or tablet that a user can quickly swipe through using their fingers, something you can’t do with a mouse.
Social media makes it easy to improve brand awareness and build your brands identity. Having a blog and being active on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Instagram etc., can increase the amount of traffic your website receives.
